Adolescent Immunisations

It is important for children and adolescents to be immunised as it is a safe and effective way to protect you and your children from harmful, contagious diseases. It also safeguards the health of other people, now and for future generations.

Year 7

When your child is in Year 7 at high school they will get vaccinated against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis and Human papillomavirus. The vaccines they will receive are Boostrix or Adacel (IM) and Gardasil 9 (IM). (Altogether, 2 vaccines). The school that they attend will organise when they will receive these vaccines.

Year 10

Once in Year 10, your child will be vaccinated against Meningococcal ACWY with the vaccine Nimenrix (IM). This will again be organised by the school that they are enrolled in.

Catch-up Immunisations

At the practice catch-up immunisations are available for children who have missed receiving their vaccination at school.

Appointments can be made for these catch-up immunisations by calling us on 1300 300 065
